We visited the lakehouse again in mid October, just past the peak color of the previous weekend. Autumn "falls" quickly up here. Now the ground is covered in crackling dry leaves, and the views to the lake and through the trees are much clearer. Here are a few shots to reflect the advancing season.

The water level of the lake has already dropped dramatically, leaving the stone shelf widely exposed.

The big, water sodden logs that extended into the water have been cut and moved (not "removed") where we hope to someday place a dock. It is now possible to walk a long way along the shoreline, the shelf that is completely submerged in the spring and summer.

The path up to the lakehouse from the shoreline will soon be buried in leaves.

My husband and I have been trying to decide on a Log/timber frame home for a year - just decided we loved this model - called the company to get any pictures they might have - they called me back and said they had one client that had built the model and had a blog. You can NOT believe how wonderful being able to look at all of your pictures was to us. And after searching through plans and pictures - finally deciding on one that no one had even built yet (or so we thought) turns out you have built it beautifully - and our last name? Ready? Parnell. What are the odds of this one. Thank you again for all of your wonderful pictures showing the construction phases - and the finished product is stunning.
