Newest view of the house from what will be the driveway! Garage is up, framed and roofed! Most windows and doors are in! Roof shingles are on main house, soon to be on all!

Garage is up, windows in, concrete flooring not down yet. Need to order garage doors soon!!

Landscaper arrived today to begin moving dirt to create two terraces that will ease slope down to the right side of the front of the house. First terrace will extend about 10 feet from porch to the right (where "black" waterproofing material stops), second terrace will be below master bath window to end of house. First terrace will curve outward towards driveway and end about where trees are shown on the right side of picture.

Front door and porch of house. Roof of covered porch will extend outwards to where board extends. Beams with stacked stone bases will hold up roof. Awaiting arrival of front door.

September 8, 2007 Update

Early September and the roof is on the master bedroom (on the right).

The decking is laid, railings not in yet. Have been advised by neighbors with homes at Deep Creek to carefully consider NOT putting steps down to the ground level from the deck. Bears frequently climb the stairs to get at grills and smells of the kitchens!! Last Friday's Washington Post ran a story about a rabid bear fighting a couple at their patio screen door!!

View out the lower level bedroom sliding glass doors. Will need a small deck or balcony as this doorway is not at ground level as we had planned. Slope away from rear of house is evident in picture.

Stonework continues to rise around perimeter of house. This is on the back under the sliding glass doorway to lower level bedroom.

View of rear of house, left side. Planks are the start of floor for the screened porch off master bedroom. Supports and lower platform are for construction and will be removed. Note opening on right, that is the sliding glass door opening of lower floor guest bedroom, several feet above ground level.

Another view of screened porch floor and corner of house. Floor will be apx. 18" above ground level, which will be terraced and/or sloped here. Note the cinderblock bases for cedar posts will actually support porch (there will be four) and which will have stone around bases.

View of the beginning of stacked stone which wrap around foundation above ground of house.
